How It Ends… Ends.

We just wrapped up a lobbying event in Washington D.C. called How It Ends, put on by Invisible Children, Resolve Uganda, and the Enough Project. Close to 2000 people from across the nation gathered to meet with their senators and representatives asking for support in passing the LRA Disarmament and Uganda Recovery Act of 2009. This bill would end the longest running war in Africa, liberate thousands of child soldiers, and lead Uganda into a future of stability and prosperity.

I now have a new respect for our government. When you take advantage of your rights and make a personal connection with your representatives, they will listen.  All you have to do is voice your opinion. They want to hear it. That’s their job.

I have learned so much from this experience and can’t wait to follow up with Rep. Chet Edwards back in College Station.
